Field of activity

The work of GIZ and its partner organizations in the priority area rural development focuses on farms in the three northern regions of Cameroon as well as in the regions center, west, north and south-west. The aim is the transition from a predominantly subsistence economy to a profitable and socially and ecologically sustainable agricultural sector. The various projects aim to increase the income of the target groups through sustainable cultivation practices and improved profitability, the introduction of agricultural innovations, improved access to financing options and increased capacities for local value creation.

Your tasks

  • Support in the coordination and management of the GIZ cluster portfolio with a focus on rural development and in the implementation of the co-financed project
  • Collaboration in performing the technical coordination, especially in coordinating the projects with other projects on rural development, in particular German development cooperation but also other organizations, as well as taking on the secretariat function
  • Participation in the organization of visits and the preparation of presentations
  • Coordination and technical cooperation in reporting to the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and other donors
  • Support of all projects in the management of international agreements and other related administrative processes as well as quality management
  • Participation in the exchange of experiences and 'lessons learned' with those responsible for implementation

your profile

  • University degree in Agricultural Sciences, Rural Development, Geography, Social Sciences, Economics or any other related field
  • Good knowledge of the methods and procedures of German development cooperation as well as the relevant political and technical-content objectives of the German Federal Government, preferably on Sub-Saharan Africa and rural development
  • Work experience abroad is an advantage
  • Structured way of working and pronounced talent for coordination
  • Teamwork, resilience and high work motivation
  • Intercultural competence and sensitivity for complex processes and constellations of interests
  • Fluent in English and French; very good knowledge of German
