Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in the area of Peace and Security at the Nkafu Policy Institute;
- Write quality project proposals, and concept notes for fundraising for the Division;
- Provide inputs to the strategic planning, annual work plan and budget as required;
- Coordinate the call/request for proposals, including the organization of technical review committees, and capacity assessment of partners;
- Prepare kits for trainings, workshops and conferences on Peace and Security issues. Contribute to the development of online and onsite training modules regarding peace and security and other related issues in English and French;
- Organize webinars and in peace and security related issues in English and French;
- Review and coordinate the submission of implementing partner narrative reports;
- Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project partners
- Research, write and submit peer-reviewed articles on peace and security issues in Cameroon, Africa and the world for publication once a month;
- Conceive and organize public debates and public dialogues on peace and security issues in Cameroon and Africa;
- Oversee the work of Programme Peace and security Analyst as required;
- Provide inputs to relevant documentation such as project summaries, conference papers, briefing notes, speeches, and donor profiles;
- Provide technical inputs to the coordination of Peace and Security issues to achieve coherence and alignment of Nkafu Policy Institute programmes with other partners;

- Good knowledge of Peace and Security issues, human rights, democracy and governance issues, women’s rights and/or transitional justice.
Required Skills and Experience
Education and certification:
- At least a master’s degree or equivalent in Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, Human Rights, Gender/ Women’s Studies, International Development, or a related field is required.
Working experience:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in peace and security, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, conflict analysis and mediation, capacity building and training; programme/project development and implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting;
- Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is an asset;
- Experience in international organizations is an asset;
- Experience and interest in gender equality and women’s empowerment is an asset; and
- Computer skills, internet communication and strong command of MS Office.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and French is required.
