The Cameroonian Red Cross (CRC)
Member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement since 1963, the CRC is an auxiliary association of the Cameroonian public authorities and recognized as being of public utility. In accordance with its strategic development plan, the Movement's partners (ICRC, IFRC, CRF) attempt through their projects to support the SN (CRC) in its institutional development and operational capacities.

Objectives of the position
Placed under the authority of the program coordinator and in close collaboration with the health project managers of the Cameroon mission, the health delegate is in charge of planning, monitoring, and technical support for the various health programs and projects implemented by the FIU in Cameroon and he / she contributes to the definition of the Cameroon delegation's strategy in the area of health / nutrition / epidemic.
Responsibilities
- Support the program coordinator and actively participate in the development of new health project proposals including writing (French / English);
- Support the program teams in the planning, implementation and monitoring of health projects in accordance with the strategy of the CRf in West Africa - Lake Chad and the strategic planning of the CRF delegation in Cameroon;
- Provide technical expertise to the health / nutrition / ESCB projects of the FIU in Cameroon in order to achieve the expected results of the various projects;
- Support the Assistant Hod / PMER delegate in the harmonization of the M&E system of health / nutrition / ESCB projects as well as the project reporting system, capitalization and learning;
- Actively contribute to good internal and external communication
- Ensure the management of the technical team of Yaoundé (deputies: MobCom, PSP, Health)
Hierarchical link
- Works under the responsibility of the program coordinator.
- Is responsible for the community mobilization assistant based in Yaoundé
Functional Links
- The health delegate has a functional management link with the project managers and the health / MobCom / PSP teams, the PMER and the focal points of the CRC.
- He / She is also in direct functional link with the department of the technical expertise pole of the head office (health pole and psychosocial pole) and the technical nutrition referents of Dakar on the various themes concerning the projects (health, nutrition, ESCB, psychosocial)
In addition, the delegate collaborates with:
- The administrative and financial coordinator and the logistics coordinator, as well as the sub-delegation heads and technical DMIs
Candidate profile
Training
- Doctorate in medicine or para-medial training (nurse or midwife), master's degree in public health / project management or equivalent experience
Languages
- Fluent French
- Fluent English
Job requirements
- Capacity for pedagogy, autonomy, representation, human relations, delegation
- Ability to manage a team in direct management and functional management
- Knowledge of project management
- Ability to take a step back and project oneself into a global strategy
- Knowledge of public health, nutrition and epidemiological surveillance programs
- Writing skills in French and English (proven skills)
- Control of the nutrition issue in developing countries
- Interest in areas of intervention other than medicine and nutrition
- Interest in the integrated approach
Experience
- 3 years in the exercise of his functions of doctor / nurse / midwife practicing in PED
- 2 years of successful expatriate team management experience and multisectoral programs
- 5 years in the management and coordination of health and nutrition / Food security projects (Collaboration with NGO or IO appreciated)
