Description
The Security Assistant (MovCon Room) will assist the function of the Safety and Security Department of NRC in Cameroun.

Duties and responsibilities
- Monitor all NRC official movements in Cameroun within and between field locations and Yaoundé on a daily basis;
- Receive (or follow up on) check-in calls from all field locations and share update with CSM and Area Managers ;
- To update and maintain accurate mapping details showing team locations, work areas or sites;
- Develop and update a data base of call signs for staff, locations visited by NRC staff for official purposes (in Juba) and used by NRC movements in SS;
- Log all communications between and within field locations and Yaoundé related to movements and report all incidents and or significant changes to context to CSM/SFP or delegate ;
- Act as an information relay, and to immediately pass any information which requires action or involvement by additional parties for example CMG and/or CMT;
- Manage a movement tracking board in the Yaoundé MovCon Room ;
- Assist the other staff in the security department as and when required ;
- Monitor open source channels (TV, radio, social media, etc) collate and store relevant information and update the CMC Team Leader and Security Team accordingly;
- Ensure all communications equipment in Yaounde office are functional and immediately report any faults, damage, disconnection etc. to the logistic department;
- Maintain data base of all communications equipment in country and monitor condition and report any concerns, gaps to CSM/SFP or delegate immediately ;
- Immediately respond as per NRC SOPs in the event of a medical emergency or crisis with impact on NRC and to immediately relay information to relevant parties involved in emergency actions as specified in SOPs.
Qualifications
- Experience from working in a support function in a humanitarian/recovery context;
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
- Documented results related to the position’s Responsibilities;
- Some knowledge of English and French.
Personal qualities
- Good understanding of the geography and road networks of the country;
- Good understanding of the current context of the Cameroon ;
- Experience in managing data bases, contact lists, filing.
