Description

The GIZ project "Regional Support of the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC)" makes a significant contribution to ensuring that COMIFAC is recognized as a regional authority in questions of forest policy and in the implementation of sustainable forest management, both in the member countries and among international partners. The project works closely with the COMIFAC Executive Secretariat and with other relevant actors and focuses on five areas of action: strengthening the functioning of the COMIFAC system, learning and its transfer to the COMIFAC system, participation of local and indigenous people, strengthening forest education , Implementation of the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing.

Your tasks

  • Supporting COMIFAC in monitoring the implementation of the axis for forestry training and research
  • Strengthening stakeholders' technical capacity to involve indigenous peoples and local communities in forestry
  • Supporting RIFFEAC (network of Central African forest and environment training institutions) and its member institutions in updating, deepening and revising the quality of the content of vocational education and training
  • Support in the design and application of didactic approaches and suitable teaching methods from RIFFEAC
  • Support in improving the interaction processes between RIFFEAC and its members as well as with the COMIFAC system
  • Supporting the organizational and institutional development of RIFFEAC
  • Assistance in addressing the problems of the other components of the project in the area of ​​forest education and research, particularly in relation to the interests of local and / or indigenous communities

your profile

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of pedagogy, educational sciences or comparable courses
  • Pronounced skills and several years of experience in the areas of pedagogy and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of certification systems (labeling)
  • Practical experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and in project management
  • Knowledge of Central African educational institutions, national authorities and relevant regional institutions (experience in working with RIFFEAC and / or technical support from one of its institutions would be an advantage)
  • Good knowledge of the forest and environmental sector
  • Good communication skills and experience in creating reports
  • Business fluent German, French and English skills (spoken and written)
