SNV is a non-profit international development organization with a local presence in more than 30 of the poorest countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Our team of advisers works with local partners to equip communities and businesses with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their income and gain access to basic services. SNV works in three sectors: agriculture, renewable energies and water, sanitation and hygiene.

Within the framework of the implementation of activities (Far North, North and Adamaoua of the PRESEC project (Project to strengthen the resilience of the populations of the northern regions of Cameroon), SNV is looking for a driver based in Maroua.

Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Manager, the Driver will be responsible for:

• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and in good condition;
• Hold the logbook correctly when traveling;
• Ensure that the upkeep and maintenance of the assigned vehicle are carried out day to day;
• Use the office vehicle for transportation of authorized personnel and delivery / collection of goods and other items;
• Provide transportation and security for staff during trips and field missions;
• Prepare a monthly consumption summary and report to the supervisor;
• Responsible for the daily maintenance of the assigned vehicle, making minor repairs and organizing other related repairs;
• Ensure that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in the event of an accident;
• Provide logistical support to the GSO for the organization and preparation of all workshops, meetings and events;
• Perform all other related tasks, upon request.

Qualifications

• Have a Category C, D driver's license;
• Have two years of driving experience, particularly in the Far North
• Having experience working in an international organization will be an asset;
• Having knowledge in automobile mechanics will be a plus;
• Good knowledge of French and / or English, including any local language in the project area, is desired;
• Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of Word and Excel is a plus.
