FAIRMED, an international NGO based in Switzerland, is seeking for its program in Cameroon a Country Representative based in Yaoundé.

We want all people to have equitable access to acceptable prevention and health care, of satisfactory quality and at affordable cost, and to benefit from a healthy and equitable environment. In order to break the vicious circle of poverty and disease, we allow the poorest in Africa (Congo Basin) and in the Indian subcontinent (from Nepal to Sri Lanka), to have equal opportunities in health matter. We are helping to ease the burden of poverty-related diseases, including neglected tropical diseases.
Objective of the position: Represent FAIRMED in Cameroon and ensure the proper implementation of projects. He / She is the guarantor of the proper implementation of projects in line with the intervention logic, the FAIRMED strategy and in compliance with internal and contractual procedures. We are looking for a well-experienced project manager who will be responsible for representing FAIRMED with partners, donors and other institutions, but also for guiding, stimulating and motivating a multidisciplinary team; and which inspires with its vision of sustainable development, more specifically for the causes of FAIRMED.
Candidate profile:
Essential Skills:
- Masters (or equivalent) in Public Health, International Development, Social Sciences (Anthropology, Sociology), Management or relevant specialties
- Relevant experience in connection with the position of minimum 5 years in project management in precarious or post-conflict security contexts;
- Excellent knowledge of the Project Cycle; knowledge of the MS Office package.
- Mastery of the procedures of the main donors (European Commission, USAID, UNHCR, ECHO etc.);
- Knowledge and experience writing projects and budget;
· Excellent knowledge of the French language; Good knowledge of the English language.
· Good knowledge of how the NGO world, donors, development actors and state structures (Health, Social Sector and others) work in Cameroon

- Very good attitude to problem-solving and versatility;
- Strong leadership and diplomacy capacity;

· Experience or at least interested in working with and for minorities and indigenous peoples is an important asset.
Main Responsibilities:
Relevance and operational quality / monitoring of operations : Guarantee the coordination, development, monitoring and evaluation of the programs implemented on the mission. Ensure the relevance, quality and consistency of the programs, while respecting the operational strategy, FAIRMED technical requirements and donors.
Resource mobilization : Ensure the mobilization of financial resources and means necessary for the accomplishment of projects. Definition and Application of FAIRMED policy in Cameroon: Analysis of the socioeconomic and health and security context of Cameroon; Negotiate and manage the various partnerships, search for new funding.
Finance: Responsible for the funds and the financial management of the mission, supervises the financial and administrative control of all FAIRMED Cameroon operations.
HR Management: Ensure the management of the FAIRMED country team and the supervision of project coordinators. Build and maintain a team dynamic allowing the good achievement of the objectives, while promoting the ethics and values of FAIRMED. Ensure the proper application of Human Resources policy and procedures.
Security : Be responsible for the security of teams and goods, under the supervision of the Headquarters Program Manager in Bern. Establishment of a permanent security watch and analyze the security situation. Regular updating of security-related documents and procedures and ensuring that they are all respected on the mission. Ensure immediate management of security incidents that may occur on the mission.
Representation : FAIRMED representation in Cameroon: Interlocutor between FAIRMED and the Government, Health Services, WHO and other governmental and non-governmental organizations, embassies, donors, platforms, health cluster;
Internal and external communication: Guarantee the respect of deadlines and the quality of the documents produced by the mission and the project teams. Ensure that key operational information circulates correctly, on the mission and the various offices and with the various departments of the head office. Regular sharing of information with headquarters on the progress of its intervention as well as on meetings, socio-political development, the security situation and health policy. Responsible for the quality of technical and financial reports;
